Herman Desserts achieves SBTi validation of its climate targets

At Herman Desserts, we believe that sustainable business practices and high-quality food production go hand in hand. That is why we have submitted our climate targets for assessment by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), an internationally recognized organization that evaluates whether corporate climate targets are aligned with climate science.
We are proud to announce that our targets have been officially approved by the SBTi Target Validation Team.
Specifically, Herman Desserts commits to reducing its absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 63% by 2035, compared to the 2024 base year. In addition, we commit to measuring and reducing our Scope 3 emissions.
This validation confirms that our climate ambitions are aligned with recognized scientific methodologies and represents an important milestone in our sustainability journey. It further strengthens our commitment to improving energy efficiency, increasing the use of sustainable energy sources, and reducing the environmental impact of our operations.
Working together with our employees, suppliers and customers, we will continue to take meaningful steps towards a more sustainable future.
To achieve our climate objectives, we are already taking concrete action today. The solar panel installations at our site contribute to increasing the share of renewable energy used in our operations. In addition, we have switched to 100% renewable electricity, significantly reducing the emissions associated with our electricity consumption.
We also continue to invest in sustainable mobility. We have installed charging stations for electric company vehicles, enabling them to be charged as much as possible using renewable electricity.
Across our production and business processes, we remain focused on energy efficiency improvements. By continuously reviewing and optimizing our processes and installations, we aim to further reduce the amount of energy required per unit produced. These initiatives form an important part of our long-term strategy to reduce our environmental footprint.
